Informative? YES! Fun? YES!

Philip Davis (AAMET Committee member) opened the day with exciting news of the new AAMET website and how AAMET itself has taken the natural path of evolution and progressed with larger goals and expectations. Philip talked about AAMET’s new code of conduct and ethics and all trainers reading from the same page, with all new EFT practitioners submitting at least three case studies, either by film clip or written piece, a natural progression to becoming a regulatory body. The bright, user-friendly new website is up and running so please do not forget to register yourself and make yourself familiar with all new information and sign up for the newsletter. www.AAMET.org.
One of the first complementary therapists employed by the NHS (since 1995) Jenny Vestey was a speaker on the day. Jenny set up her service for the Dorset Cancer Centre at Poole Hospital, firstly specialising in aromatherapy, hand/foot massage and reflexology and then introducing EFT to her list of therapies on offer. Her gentle unassuming but authoritative manner, underlying a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour I am sure puts patients and medical staff at ease. She brought to the attention of all, that the oncology department doesn’t just deal with cancer but also the aspects that she treats, such as needle phobia, panic attacks, anticipating nausea, side effects of chemo, fear of swallowing pills, claustrophobia, to name but a few, all issues that EFT has been able to help with on many occasions. Jenny runs day retreats and can be contacted Thurs – Sun Tel: 01749 880199.
After being looked after by the wonderful supporters with a cup of tea or coffee, and after having a brief chat, the energy was buzzing and soon nearly lifted the roof off as Jenny Cox presented us with The Balance Procedure (TBP) After studying countless therapies over the years, Jenny decided to ‘place them in a big pot’. She had observed that with many therapies, ‘to go forwards we had to go back’. Therefore her creation of this gentle therapy, and her unabated energy, enthusiasm and natural law of attraction, held us all in the palm of her hand. Taking this therapy into schools and colleges, she and her husband, Alan, have helped many bullied children and exam-stressed pupils throughout the country. Contact details for Jenny and Alan are www.thebalanceprocedure.com email: info@thebalanceprocedure.com
The charming duo, Philip Davis and his partner Christine Sutton, introduced us to the Picture Tapping Technique (PTT) a simple way of drawing and expressing people’s emotions or feelings on paper with coloured pens. Then tap on what the person has drawn. An excellent use for people who struggle expressing their emotions or cannot or, perhaps, do not want to express them, including children especially. The simplicity of this, along with the fact that no reframing is necessary and global statements can be used, shows us that easy methods are perhaps sometimes the best and most productive way of moving forward. Philip and Christine are available at www.phoenixeft.co.uk for workshops and further information.
After a fabulously filling and tasty vegetarian lunch, the beautiful heart-moving Rowena Beaumont, who was the co-ordinator for this amazing event, spoke briefly about her dreams to see a trainer of AAMET (EFT) working within colleges throughout the UK. There was many a damp eye as we all felt her highest intention to take our knowledge to the public so that one and all can benefit and share from the wonderful gift of meridian therapies. There was huge gratitude for Rowena as she must have worked tirelessly to make this day such a wonderful experience; her generosity in making this day such value-for-money was very apparent. Due to her, and more like her, I believe that the AAMET community spirit and belief can only grow and grow. Rowena also spoke about her newly designed course, Emotional Freedom ‘Light’ Techniques which adds a healing component to traditional EFT acknowledging the Axiatonal System (higher meridian system), for further information contact Rowena EFT@rowenabeaumont.com www.rowenabeaumont.com
The cherry to add to the icing was the guest speaker, Chris Bourne, whose talk on the planetary shift of consciousness occurring around 2012 was jaw-droppingly, goose-pimplingly, spine-tinglingly … well, you get the picture and I would not and could not undermine his talk by summarising it. Therefore, I can only suggest that you buy his book ‘Gateways of Light’ of which his latest version is out in May, and perhaps check out the retreats that he runs www.openhandweb.org
It was wonderful to put names to faces and meet other like-minded people with similar intentions and goals. Personally speaking, I can only hope and pray that more of these meetings take place and the AAMET community will continue to grow and grow and bring us all together into the professional body that we are proud to be a part of.
